Rittō (Beginning of Winter)
Ritto (Beginning of Winter)
Approx. November 7th - 21st
As the name suggests, this is the time when winter begins. In colder regions, it's when the first snow arrives.
Around November 15th, during the Shichi-Go-San festival, you'll see many adorably dressed children around shrines.

In the 72 microseasons, around November 7th-11th is "Camellia Begins to Bloom (Tsubaki Hajimete Hiraku)," around November 12th-16th is "Ground Begins to Freeze (Chi Hajimete Kooru)," and around November 17th-21st is "Narcissus Blooms (Kinsenka Saku)."
"Tsubaki" refers to Sasanqua camellias, and "Kinsenka" refers to narcissus.
Lotus root is in season, and its hollow form, which allows one to see through to the other side, makes it a familiar lucky charm.
