[Branch Encyclopedia | Summer] Japanese Andromeda
Hello everyone,
SiKiTO's "Branch Regular Delivery" service delivers the best branches selected by professionals, depending on the weather and stock availability at the time.
The branch we're introducing this time is 'Asebi (Japanese Andromeda)'.

Asebi is an evergreen shrub in the Azalea family.
Its fruits and leaves are toxic, and it's said that horses become "drunk" after eating this tree, hence the kanji "馬酔木" (horse-intoxicating tree). However, it's perfectly safe for use as a floral material. It's also a popular choice for ornamental plants and garden trees.

Even just one branch of Asebi makes a strong statement! Simply placing it in a vase makes for a very stylish display.
It creates a shaded spot in your room, perfect for relaxing with a book.

One of Asebi's charms is its durability and long-lasting beauty.
To enjoy it for a long time, refresh the water frequently and trim the cut ends of the stems.
Splitting the stem ends and peeling back the bark will help them absorb water more effectively.

Don't hesitate to remove any browned or insect-damaged leaves. This will improve the appearance and energize the remaining leaves.
If it adapts well to its environment, new shoots may even appear!
These new shoots are yellowish-green, so an Asebi branch with varying shades of green is truly beautiful.
Greenery enriches our lives and spirits.
