【Branch Guide | Autumn】
Euonymus (Mayumi)
Hello everyone.
SiKiTO's "Branch Subscription" delivers the best branches selected by professionals, depending on the weather and procurement situation at the time.
The branch we are introducing this time is "Mayumi".

It is a deciduous tree of the Celastraceae family distributed throughout Japan, excluding Okinawa.
It grows wild on the edges of forests in mountainous and hilly areas and has been cherished since ancient times for its beautiful autumn foliage and fruits.
While the adorable pink fruits are captivating, you can also enjoy the vividness of the bright red seeds that emerge after the ripe fruits burst open.

Although it has a feminine-sounding name, it is said to have been called "Mayumi" because its wood is dense and resilient, and bows were made from it.
Even today, it is used as a material for things like shogi pieces.
Please let the autumnal berries soothe you.
