White Fothergilla
Hello everyone,
SiKiTO's "Branch Subscription" delivers the best branches selected by professionals, depending on the weather and stock availability at the time.
This time, we'd like to introduce 'Shirobana-mansaku' (White Witch Hazel).

This is a deciduous shrub belonging to the genus Hamamelis, in the family Hamamelidaceae.
Its distinctive flowers resemble white pom-poms, but what appear to be petals are actually stamens.
There's a theory that the name "mansaku" comes from "mazu saku" (first to bloom), as it blooms in late January in its natural habitat, ahead of other flowers.

If it adapts well to its environment, fresh green leaves will unfurl after the flowers fade.

Both the flowers and new shoots are delicate. To prevent wilting, change the water frequently and trim the stems, then display them in a cool, well-ventilated spot.
