This is a basic brand created by Takahata Winery, which consistently receives high ratings in domestic and international competitions, with the aim of producing "exemplary, classic, high-quality wines."

It is primarily made from Merlot grown in Takahata Town, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Aroma of concentrated fruit, like dried fruit

The aroma features concentrated fruit notes of berries and cassis, with subtle hints of spice and oak. It has a soft, clear palate. The deep flavor and tannins spread, creating a long, complex finish.

Though dry and full-bodied, it's not too heavy, making it an excellent pairing for spicy meat dishes, dry tomato sauces, and strong cheeses. The ideal serving temperature is 17-20°C.

Takahata Winery was founded in 1990 with the mission to "produce high-quality wines that rival the world's highest standards, even if it takes 100 years."

Imbuing grape cultivation with a message for the future

Takahata Town in Yamagata Prefecture has been a region focused on "sustainable production and consumption" and "biodiversity protection" since the 1970s.

Despite being an era when pesticides and chemical fertilizers were encouraged as modern agriculture, young farmers in 1973 formed the "Takahata Town Organic Agriculture Study Group" and began practicing organic farming, recognizing environmental destruction and health damage.

This initiative continues to this day, with the winery implementing its own pest control standards that are significantly lower than those set by the prefecture and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, thereby reducing environmental impact.

Wines made from grapes cultivated with a vision for the next 100 years are also recommended as souvenirs for parties or as gifts.
