flerco note means "touch this hand."
It's a notebook where you can touch the skin of endangered species, recreated with special Japanese printing techniques.
Beyond the ease of writing on the paper and its good openability, it embodies a new concept: "touching the cover."
flerco note: "The Touching Hand."

flerco note features special printing techniques developed by Japan's proud printing factories on its covers, expressing the skin of endangered species.
More than just a tool for writing, this notebook aims to provide the "experience" of touching endangered species. In an age where all kinds of information can be accessed through devices, the message it conveys is an awareness of the often-confused concepts of "knowing" and "actually touching."
What do you feel when you touch a flerco note?
Three Special Printing Techniques to Express the Skin of Endangered Species
① Fiji Iguana

The Fiji banded iguana, endemic to the Fiji Islands, is classified as Endangered (EN, Critically Endangered IB) by the IUCN.
Its vibrant green color, called "the most beautiful iguana in the world," is achieved with spot color printing, while the reptilian skin's unevenness and luster are expressed through "UV thick-layer printing," which applies an extreme amount of ink.
② Whale Shark

The whale shark, familiar at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan, is also classified as Endangered (EN).
Its rough shark skin is reproduced using "texture printing" mixed with micro-beads. It is the largest living fish species, with some theories suggesting it can live for 150 years.
③ Reticulated Giraffe

Even the popular giraffe at zoos is classified as Vulnerable (VU, Critically Endangered II).
Its densely packed short fur is expressed through "non-woven fabric printing," which involves printing on non-woven fabric attached to paper, creating a fluffy and warm texture reminiscent of real fur.
Dot Grid for Unrestricted Use

The main text is printed on high-quality paper (FSC® certified forest paper) that offers a pleasant friction for writing, with a dot grid (5mm intervals) that does not hinder creative thinking. The blue-toned color, said to enhance concentration, subtly supports your writing.
Additionally, the dots in the center of the top, bottom, left, and right are slightly larger, which is useful for dividing pages and organizing information.
The hardcover binding allows for smooth writing from the very first page without any hassle.
