Yukko is a hanging glass vase that allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of flowers, water, light, and shadow.

This palm-sized flower vase can also be enjoyed as a suncatcher, gathering light and shining brightly. You can hang it with the included wire and display it anywhere you like. We recommend placing it near a window or on a veranda, where it can catch the light.

Yukko means "healing pot" (癒壺 - yukko), a small pot that brings healing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people spent more time at home, there was a desire to add healing to daily life. Yukko was named with this wish in mind.

A vase that reveals unique beauty in every moment

When light shines on Yukko's delicate multifaceted surface, it reveals different expressions.Sometimes, you might even see a rainbow shimmer.

Like discovering a rainbow in the sky, you'll be enveloped in the joy and happiness of encountering unique beauty in that very moment. Why not add such enriching moments to your life?

To create the shape of this suncatcher, a special cast mold was custom-made. Temperature control is crucial for casting; if it's too low, the glass surface will be rough, and if it's too high, the glass will stick and become unusable.

The intricate structure crafted from delicate glass is entirely handmade. Yukko, which the glass artisan himself says he "absolutely wanted to bring into the world," is born from the workshop of Sghr Sugahara, a glass manufacturer located in Kujukuri, Chiba Prefecture.

Unique beauty designed by glass artisans themselves

Yukko was designed by Mr. Matsuura, a glass artisan himself. Sghr does not have dedicated designers.

This is because they believe that only artisans, who spend a long time with glass, are fascinated by it, and know its most beautiful moments inside and out, can maximize the charm of glass through their designs.　

Sugahara Kougeigarasu Co., Ltd. was founded in 1932. At their R&D committee, composed of volunteer employees, about 30 artisans take the lead in creating and releasing glass pieces they have designed themselves.

Every year, new pieces are born, each imbued with the thoughts and stories of individual artisans. However, they share one common aspiration: "To bring the beauty of glass into everyday tools."

They hope that the light shining into daily life illuminates the glass, and its beauty creates a moment of awe. They create Sghr glass items by hand every day, with the hope that these inspiring moments will brighten the user's daily life and become a comforting presence.

Wishing for moments of healing

Mr. Matsuura designed Yukko in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He re-recognized the joy of creating tableware for delicious meals at home and for use in daily life. From this, Yukko was born out of a desire to deliver glass that could heal stress caused by lifestyle changes and add new enjoyment to time spent at home.
