This sparkling wine, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture, the winery's hometown, has an elegant aroma reminiscent of citrus and white flowers.

It is dry but not overly so, and its appeal lies in its refreshing taste with a rich umami flavor.

It pairs well with any cuisine, whether Japanese, Western, or Chinese, but it is especially recommended with Japanese food! It surprisingly matches dishes flavored with soy sauce or miso.

It enhances the delicate flavors of Japanese dishes such as sashimi, tempura, and vegetables dressed with vinegar and miso.

A town in the wine belt with all the conditions for delicious wine

Takahata Town, located in the southern part of Yamagata Prefecture, is rich in nature and thrives in the production of rice, grapes, and pears. The Chardonnay variety used for wine boasts one of the highest shipment volumes in Japan, and the Delaware variety boasts the highest shipment volume in Japan at the municipal level.

Regions suitable for wine grape cultivation are called wine belts[*], and many famous wine-producing regions in various countries, such as France, Italy, and Spain, are located within these belts. Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture, is also included in the wine belt.

The sweetness and acidity of the grapes grown in this blessed land create a rich flavor and deep aroma.

Takahata Town meets most of the criteria: an average annual temperature of 10-20°C, latitude 30-50°N or 20-40°S, 1000-1500 hours of sunshine from grape budding to harvest, and an annual rainfall of 500-900mm.

Aiming to be a premium winery on par with the world's renowned wine regions

Takahata Winery was established in 1990 with the mission to "produce high-quality wine that rivals the world's highest standards, even if it takes 100 years."
