SiKiTO CAFE Nihonbashi Branch Opening Report

From Nihonbashi, the starting point of the Five Routes, we want to share the joy of cherishing the changing seasons.

SiKiTO CAFE was created with the desire to let customers enjoy the changing appearance of branches with the seasons, along with seasonal flavors.

About nine months after opening our first store in Kaihin Makuhari in September 2024, we are now opening our second store in Nihonbashi!

The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk from the station, very close to the intersection of Eitai-dori and Showa-dori. Takashimaya is on the next street, making it an area where many people enjoy shopping on their days off.

《Store Space》

The most distinctive feature of the Nihonbashi store is its bold, open atrium!

The design creates a wonderfully liberating feeling as you move from the chic entrance, with its low ceiling and dark and natural material palette, into the bright, open atrium space.

In the atrium space, a magnificent 2-meter tall Japanese andromeda welcomes you.

We placed it so that its refreshing appearance could be seen by passersby outside the store, as a symbol of SiKiTO CAFE.

Seasonal branches are also displayed throughout the store.

The seating arrangement is also spacious, suggesting a relaxing time for our guests.

Once again, the interior design was handled by Mr. Suzuki of Buena Design. He is a professional in restaurant design, also known for his work on "Allpress Espresso Japan" in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa.

The artwork in the store was created by Audrey Fondcavé.

Born in France, she moved to Japan in 2001. In recent years, she has been creating abstract works using Made-in-Japan natural mineral pigments.

The pigments used in this artwork are iwa-enogu (mineral pigments). These pigments are made from natural minerals and rocks, and are known for being commonly used in Japanese painting.

The large artwork proudly displayed on the upper part of the first floor was suggested by Audrey, who, after hearing about SiKiTO's concept, proposed it "like a window."

It's a work that appears to be a window revealing a gently changing sky beyond the canvas, with an impression that shifts with time and mood.

On the second floor, there were also works inspired by the four seasons.

 

《Staff Training》

Once the interior construction was completed, staff training began immediately.

There were approximately 20 opening staff members. Staff from the Makuhari store and elite members from LATTE GRAPHIC were dispatched to conduct the training.

 

《Reception Party》

After the staff training was completed and the store was tidied up, a reception party was held on Tuesday, June 24th, inviting business partners and people working in the neighborhood.

Similar to the Makuhari store's reception, yui flower tokyo presented an astonishing live arrangement using branches and flowers. Towards the end, there was also a live band performance.

Approximately 150 people attended, making it a great success.

As a small token of appreciation, we presented branch bouquets to guests as they departed.

It was an opportunity to directly express our gratitude to everyone who always supports SiKiTO and SiKiTO CAFE. Thank you very much.

 

《Grand Opening》
After the reception, and following three days of pre-opening (trial operation), SiKiTO CAFE Nihonbashi officially had its grand opening on Monday, June 30th!

On weekdays, the cafe opens at 7 AM. Customers who visited early to recharge before work gave us welcome feedback, with one person saying, "I've been curious ever since construction started."

The staff, initially nervous, began to relax by lunchtime.

All our staff are eagerly looking forward to spending days cherishing the changing seasons with our customers. We are also planning various events, so please join us if you are interested.
