[The Seasons and I] Seasonal wines and snacks, served in downtown Tokyo.
Our branch subscription service is chosen not only for homes but also for creating spaces in shops and offices.
We visited a beloved wine bar in downtown Tokyo to see how branches are displayed in a space where many people enjoy a comfortable time.
Wine Bar Neutral
Tomoyuki Kurita

Mr. Kurita runs a wine bar in Oshiage, a downtown area of Tokyo.
The bar, which opened in 2024, is named "Neutral," based on the concept of "a place where anyone can enjoy delicious wine anytime, anywhere."
The name reflects his desire for the bar to be welcoming to everyone, whether they are wine connoisseurs or not, and whether they want a quick drink or a long session.

The interior, designed with the theme of "sophistication and casualness," has a simple and warm atmosphere. The counter is adorned with grape-inspired tiles, adding a playful touch.

The branches from the subscription service displayed in the store provide a pleasant accent. When we visited in May, Japanese andromeda, Spiraea thunbergii, and Erica gracilis adorned the interior.
He also enjoys drying autumn and winter floral materials.

The bar, with 8 counter seats, offers about 300 types of wine, focusing on California, Chile, Burgundy, and Champagne, and also featuring selections from New Zealand and Spain.

When asked about the relationship between wine and the seasons, the sommelier shared many insights.
Fruity white wines and dry rosés are popular in spring and summer, with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc being a particular recommendation.
In summer, crisp and acidic French Chardonnays are preferred.
In autumn and winter, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and spicy Syrah are popular.

The dishes also change with the seasons.
Early summer appetizers include potato salad with sakura shrimp, new onions, and snap peas, served with a refreshing basil sauce, and a delicious light country-style pâté.
In autumn and winter, dishes featuring game meat and mushrooms appear on the menu.

Customer service is a great source of satisfaction in his work. Having obtained several wine expert certifications and continually striving to provide customers with a delicious glass, Mr. Kurita describes wine as "life itself, like an endless RPG."

The presence of branches subtly complements the time spent with wine. We were delighted to see seasonal branches beautifully displayed.
The video featuring Mr. Kurita is also available on YouTube as part of the "Shiki to Watashi" series. Please check it out if you like.
Mr. Kurita, thank you for your cooperation despite your busy schedule!
