The Japanese maple (Yamamomiji) bonsai, with its deeply lobed and refreshing leaves, has been a classic tree species for generations.

Its light green leaves, which grow from spring to summer, are charming, and the way they turn crimson as autumn deepens is mystical. In winter, it sheds its leaves, and a new cycle begins again in spring.

While autumn foliage is a phenomenon seen in many trees, there is a theory that the character for "maple" (紅葉, momiji) came to be read as "momiji" because of the exceptional beauty of its autumn leaves.

The pot color "Hakuu" (白雨) is an evocative shade representing a sudden shower or downpour. The saucer "Shiraha" (白萩) can also be seen as dazzling sunlight.

When kept outdoors, a well-ventilated semi-shaded spot is ideal. As it is susceptible to dryness, be careful about dehydration and direct sunlight in summer.

Even when kept indoors, good ventilation is crucial to prevent stuffiness. Regularly taking it outdoors to expose it to sunlight and rain will refresh the plant.

In winter, exposing it to temperatures below 5℃ will encourage leaf drop. While it is bare, it doesn't matter if it doesn't get direct sunlight.

② Hime Sarusuberi (Crape Myrtle) (Medium size)

Its vibrantly colored flowers, blooming in the heat, are a perfect match for the sun. With a long flowering period, as implied by its name "Hyakunichikou" (meaning "100 days red"), it can sometimes be enjoyed until autumn if cared for properly.

With proper care, it will bloom again on many branches in subsequent years.

All bonsai are carefully cultivated by Ishiki Hana staff, who dedicate time and effort to them.

One of Ishiki Hana's unique charms is their gently shaped pots, all of which are produced in-house.

Approximately 50 original colors are given evocative names such as "Hakuu" (white rain) and "Shinpiki" (deep green).
