Shinpaku, meaning "especially beautiful hinoki cypress"

Alongside pine trees, it is a representative evergreen conifer of bonsai. "Shinpaku" is a Chinese term meaning "especially beautiful hinoki cypress."

With its powerful presence, aged bark, and trunk (shari) that eventually becomes bleached white, this tree species is truly "the king of bonsai," allowing you to fully enjoy its characteristics.

While "bonsai" might conjure an image for advanced users, Shinpaku is sturdy and easy to grow, making it highly recommended for beginners.

As an evergreen with gentle growth, its well-maintained shape lasts a long time, so you can enjoy it sufficiently with just basic watering.

The Shinpaku we have prepared this time, though small, has been cultivated for 10-12 years with great care and time.

To highlight its powerful expression, we paired it with a "Sumi" (ink) colored pot with strong lines on a white background, and a "Ai" (indigo) colored saucer.

It prefers sunny and well-ventilated locations, so if indoors, place it by a window. Occasionally exposing it to fresh air and rain/wind can refresh the plant.

It's best to avoid direct sunlight in summer as it can cause leaf burn. In winter, allowing it to experience adequate cold helps regulate the tree's biorhythm, leading to better budding the following spring.

A popular tree species whose changes are captivating, from new spring buds to summer green, autumn foliage, and winter defoliation.

② Hime Sarusuberi (Crape Myrtle) (Medium size)

The vibrantly colored flowers that bloom in the heat look great under the sun. It's called "Hyakunichikō" (literally "100-day red") because of its long flowering period; if cared for well, it can be enjoyed until autumn.

With proper care, it will bloom abundantly on many branches in subsequent years.

③ Kuchinashi (Gardenia) (Medium size)

Large, pure white flowers emit a captivatingly sweet fragrance. Their majestic appearance, blooming proudly amidst a straight, strong branch structure, is magnificent.

As an evergreen, its glossy foliage can be enjoyed year-round.

⑤ Nire Keyaki (Zelkova Serrata) (Medium size, Large size with stone)

The Nire Keyaki, with its gentle-colored leaves at the tips of its branches, offers a grand atmosphere even in a small size. In winter, it transforms into a bare tree after shedding its leaves.

This tree provides a dynamic display of changing appearances.

Ishiki-hana, a bonsai brand based in Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture. SiKiTO's representative was instantly charmed by their beautiful and refined bonsai, leading to this collaboration.

All bonsai are carefully cultivated by Ishiki-hana staff with time and effort.

One of Ishiki-hana's unique charms is their gently shaped pots, all self-produced.

About 50 original colors are given evocative names like "Shigure" (Drizzle) and "Fukamidori" (Deep Green).

The "Bonsai in Four Seasons" collaboration with Ishiki-hana is available for a limited time each season.
