Redcurrant

Hello everyone.

This time, we are introducing "Redcurrant" branches.

A deciduous shrub of the genus Ribes, family Grossulariaceae. Native to Europe.

Characterized by translucent green berries, it is only available for a limited time in early summer.

As the kanji "酸塊" (suguri) suggests, the sour berries are used for jams and fruit liqueurs.
*Please be careful not to put the berries from the delivered branches in your mouth.

Trimming off parts that are past their prime will make the branches look better and help water reach the healthy parts more easily.

Fresh green branches tend to wilt easily and gradually absorb less water over time.

Always make a fresh cut with each water change and make a cross-shaped incision with scissors.

If the branches are not absorbing water well, "yūage" (hot water treatment) can be effective. Please be careful not to burn yourself.
