[SiKiTO CAFE] September 2024 "SiKiTO CAFE" Opening Report

We aim to create a comfortable cafe for the people of the Kaihin-Makuhari area, like a "good neighbor."

On Friday, September 6, 2024, SiKiTO CAFE finally grand opened in Kaihin-Makuhari!

This time, we will introduce the completed cafe space, staff training, and reception event.

 

July-August: Interior construction

Although it was a good existing property[*], we renovated it to express the SiKiTO worldview.

[*]Existing property: Refers to a property where the interior, fixtures, and equipment used by the previous tenant remain as they are.

Mr. Suzuki of Buena Design was in charge of the interior design. He is a professional restaurant designer who has also worked on "Allpress Espresso Japan" in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa.

The concept of the spatial design is "Modern Japanese."

We combined organic branches within calculated inorganic lines and used old tools that evoke the flow of time to create a comfortable space that SiKiTO envisioned.

The interior space is simple yet makes the most of the materials, so that seasonal branches stand out. A giant 2-meter tall Japanese dogwood welcomes you at the cash register!

Potted plants of Japanese dogwood and Andromeda were lined up by the door. We are looking forward to the seasonal changes unique to potted plants.

We arranged the 76 indoor seats and 16 terrace seats so that seasonal branches and changing scenery can be seen from all of them.

We plan to display woodblock prints and other art on the large walls in the future.

The counter seats and large table area are ideal for working on your PC, even if you are alone. It is said that the right amount of noise can increase concentration.

We decorated the pot in the center of the large table with late summer wild roses, adding a sense of the season here as well.

There are also terrace seats outside where a pleasant breeze blows through. We also provide lead hooks and dog food so that you can stop by with your pet.

 

August: Staff Training

There are approximately 25 opening staff members in total. Since all of them are new staff, we conducted thorough training for about two weeks until the opening.

Elite staff from LATTE GRAPHIC, who will be involved in the operation of SiKiTO CAFE, visited Makuhari, and the training period was a mix of tension and friendliness.

 

August 30: Reception Party

On the Friday just before the opening, we held a reception party, inviting SiKiTO users and business partners from the neighborhood!

The highlight of the event was a live branch arrangement by yui flower tokyo, who demonstrated "arrangement techniques to make branches look even more beautiful by adding flowers."

We were relieved when the wine, personally selected by the SiKiTO representative, was also highly praised.

It was a moment that reminded us once again that this day was made possible by the efforts of so many people.

 

September 6: Grand Opening

After about a week of soft opening (trial operation), SiKiTO CAFE finally grand opened on Friday, September 6!

Many customers visited from the first day, and it was a very popular start.

All the staff are very much looking forward to spending days cherishing the changing seasons with our customers.
