It is an evergreen shrub of the genus Cytisus in the legume family.

Its deer-antler-like form is stylish.

Sekka (石化), or cristation, is a type of deformity where multiple stems fuse together to form a flattened shape.

It is said to occur easily when there is excessive nutrition during the growth process, and it has become a variety known as "Sekka Enishida".

Its unique shape makes it highly valued for ornamental purposes and a popular material for flower arrangements and ikebana.
