This time, we'd like to introduce "Mistletoe."

A semi-parasitic plant of the sandalwood family, genus Viscum. In Japanese kanji, it is written as "宿り木" or "寄生木" (both meaning "lodging tree" or "parasitic tree").

It is mainly distributed in East Asia (including Japan), Europe, and West Asia, and in Japan, it can be found from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Instead of rooting in the ground, it grows parasitically on tree branches and performs photosynthesis itself, making it a semi-parasitic plant.

It bears white or pale yellow berries in winter, and during winter, its lush, round green form stands out among the bare branches of its host, making it sometimes discoverable in urban areas.

Its mysterious appearance is considered sacred worldwide.

Mistletoe, with its regularly branching structure, can be simply bundled into a stylish swag with just a few sprigs.

There are many romantic legends in Europe, and it is also well-known as a charm against evil.
