The branch we are introducing this time is the Red Kiritsutsuji (Rhododendron kaempferi).

A deciduous shrub of the genus Rhododendron, in the family Ericaceae.

There's a theory that both characters in "Tsutsuji" (躑躅) have the "foot" radical because they are "beautiful enough to stop your feet."

While its leafy appearance conveys strength, the blooming flowers evoke a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere.

Red Kiritsutsuji with flowers is a bit rare to find as a cut branch.
