The sight of its pale purple flowers hanging down is compared to a woman walking with her kimono sleeves swaying, and the elegant wisteria has been cherished since the Heian period.
This extra-large size allows you to fully enjoy the power and dignity characteristic of bonsai.
Wisteria: Elegant, Flowing Blooms
Wisteria has long been considered a symbol of "nobility" and "intellect," and was treated as an important color in "The Tale of Genji."
Its gracefully hanging blossoms represent "welcome," "gentleness," and "prosperity." It's also sometimes regarded as a good luck charm, with its name, "fuji," sounding like "fuji" (unique, unparalleled) or "fushi" (immortality), making it a cherished and special flower.
After the blooms fade around April to May, the refreshing sight of its pale green leaves unfurling one after another is also impressive.

This time, we've prepared an extra-large size that fits in both hands.
To enhance the beauty of the flowers, we chose a chic combination of a "seigin" (blue-silver) pot and a "shiranami" (white wave) saucer.

When this photo was taken in early February, flower buds were already peeking out from the branch tips. Getting to see these small buds gracefully droop as they grow into flowers promises to be a luxurious experience.

Wisteria is robust against heat and cold and loves sunlight, so outdoor management is essential.
Keep it in a well-ventilated, sunny spot. In summer, protect it from direct sunlight and be careful not to let it dry out.
In winter, exposing it to the cold will encourage flower bud formation, but protect it from frost and snow. In particular, frost on swollen flower buds after March can hinder blooming.
During blooming, indoor management is acceptable, but it's best to limit it to about one week.
Bonsai for the Four Seasons: Spring Edition – 7 Varieties

The "Bonsai for the Four Seasons" Spring 2026 collection features seven varieties, all selected for their beautiful spring blooms. Each is available in limited quantities.
Would you like to experience the luxury of watching buds bloom in your own home after enduring the winter?
① Miyama Kirishima Azalea (Small size)

Miyama Kirishima Azalea is a Japanese endemic species of azalea that grows only in volcanic alpine regions of Kyushu.
It's popular for its small leaves, intricate branching, and robust nature with abundant blooms. The elegant dark pink flowers have a long blooming period and are a sight to behold.

② Kometsutsuji (Small size)

Kometsutsuji has tiny leaves resembling grains of rice. It produces pale purple flowers, lighter than those of Miyama Kirishima.
In winter, its leaves turn red due to the cold, but as a semi-deciduous tree, it doesn't completely lose its leaves. It displays a charming and lovely appearance throughout the year.
Purchase here. (Pot color: Asagiri)
③ Hakuchoge (Medium size)

Hakuchoge, with its profusion of pure white small flowers, possesses a loveliness that might remind you of a cherished childhood treasure.
As an evergreen, its variegated foliage can be enjoyed year-round.
Purchase here. (Pot color: Biwa)
④ Asahiyama Cherry (Medium size)

Asahiyama Cherry features a strong, straight trunk and showy double-flowered blossoms.
You can fully enjoy the changing seasons, from blooming to leafing to defoliation, all within a small pot.
Purchase here. (Pot color: Awayuki)
⑤ Jugatsuzakura (Large size)

Jugatsuzakura, named for its autumn blooms, is a two-season flowering cherry.
Even just a few pale pink blossoms can evoke a special charm.

⑥ Shidarezakura (Large size)

Shidarezakura, with its weeping branches from the Higan cherry, has long been cherished as an elegant cherry blossom.
It is becoming a rare tree species due to a decline in growers.
Purchase here. (Pot color: Hakutou)
⑦ Wisteria (Extra-large size)

The wisteria, with its impressive display of elegant purple flowers blooming in succession, is truly breathtaking.
The way the flower clusters hang like a waterfall from the bare branches is mystically beautiful.
