The Jugatsuzakura cherry tree, which blooms twice a year, not only in spring but also in autumn.
In addition to the joy of seeing its blossoms, you can also enjoy its changing appearance as its leaves emerge, turn crimson, and then fall.
Biennial Cherry Blossoms: Blooming Twice a Year
Cherry blossoms have always been, and still are, the quintessential symbol of Japanese spring.
The Jugatsuzakura (October Cherry) is a biennial cherry blossom that blooms not only in spring but also in autumn, around October. Because it continues to bloom at temperatures around 10°C, its autumn flowers can sometimes be enjoyed until around January.

This time, we are offering a large size that fits in both hands.
The pot color "Wakakusa" (light green) and the saucer color "Awafuji" (pale wisteria) evoke the pleasant scenery of the two seasons when Jugatsuzakura blooms.

When photographed in early February, the flower buds were already beginning to swell. We look forward to seeing them plump up.

To ensure robust growth, indoor care alone may not be sufficient. Manage your bonsai in a place with as much sunlight and ventilation as possible, and occasionally move it outdoors to help regulate its rhythm.
Especially in winter, allowing it to experience the cold will encourage more flower buds to form.
After late winter, bringing it indoors will cause it to bloom in about 3 to 4 weeks.
Seasons and Bonsai features 7 varieties

For Spring 2026, Seasons and Bonsai offers a total of 7 varieties, all featuring spring-like flowering plants. All are available in limited quantities.
Why not enjoy the sight of buds swelling and eventually blooming in the comfort of your own home after winter?
① Miyama Kirishima Azalea (Small size)

Miyama Kirishima Azalea is a species native to Japan, found only in the volcanic alpine regions of Kyushu.
Its popularity stems from its small leaves, fine branching, excellent flowering, and robust nature. The elegant deep pink flowers have a long blooming period and are a sight to behold.

② Kometsutsuji (Small size)

Kometsutsuji, with leaves as small as grains of rice. It blooms with pale purple flowers, lighter than those of Miyama Kirishima.
In winter, its leaves turn red due to the cold, but as a semi-deciduous tree, it doesn't shed all its leaves. It displays a charming and endearing appearance throughout the year.

③ Hakucho-ge (Medium size)

Hakucho-ge, with its profusion of pure white small flowers, has a delicate charm that might remind you of a treasured childhood memory.
