Andromeda, an evergreen tree that captivates year-round

Andromeda, a familiar sight in SiKiTO's summer branch delivery service. This time, we offer 'Passion,' a new variety with deep reddish-purple flowers.

This tree offers many highlights throughout the year, including bell-shaped flowers that droop in spring, reddish new shoots, glossy leaves, and eventually, berries.

When photographed in mid-November, it was covered in many buds. You can observe the lovely changes up close until they bloom.

The large pot is 'Hyosei' (ice blue), like a clear winter sky, and the 'Ai' (indigo) saucer also uses cool colors, creating a dignified impression.

It can grow well indoors. Place it in a sunny, well-ventilated spot.

Allowing it to experience the cold thoroughly during winter will promote spring blooming.

① Holly

Holly, with its uniquely jagged leaves.

As it symbolizes the holiday season, it also carries the flower meaning "family happiness" in the West.

② Japanese Black Pine

The Japanese black pine, a classic bonsai species, possesses a unique presence that combines strength and charm.

It is considered auspicious because its green leaves thrive all year round and it has a long lifespan. It is one of the "Three Friends of Winter" (pine, bamboo, and plum), which retain their beauty even in the cold winter, and is still a familiar symbol today.

③ Crabapple Lingonberry

Kamatsuka-kokemomo, an evergreen tree native to Taiwan, has a somewhat oriental atmosphere.

Small white flowers bloom in spring, and the fruits turn red from late summer to autumn. December to January is the best time to see them.

④ Japanese White Pine

As its name suggests, the Japanese white pine has five needles bundled together, and its name is also a pun on "Goyo o matsu" (waiting for your service), making it an auspicious native Japanese evergreen conifer believed to bring good fortune in business.

Small pine cones may form from autumn to winter.

⑤ Ardisia japonica (Juryo)

Yabukoji, known as Yamamitsuba in the Man'yoshu, has been beloved by people since ancient times.

In winter, its red berries hang charmingly, and it is also an auspicious plant displayed as "Juryo" for New Year's.

⑥ Andromeda

Andromeda is a consistently popular branch plant. In early spring, its bell-shaped reddish-purple flowers bloom in magnificent clusters.

This tree can be enjoyed throughout the year, with reddish new shoots in early summer and glossy leaves from mid-summer onwards.

⑦ Senjumaro

Senjumaro, a variety of Japanese black pine, has the characteristic of branching finely, known as 'yatsubusa' (many buds).

Its appeal lies in its vigorously growing leaves and the rugged changes in its trunk bark. We offer an extra-large size that exudes dignity.

Opening the door to nature. Bonsai specialty store "Ishikibana"

Ishikibana, a bonsai brand based in Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture. SiKiTO's representative fell in love with their beautiful and refined bonsai at first sight, leading to this collaboration.

All bonsai are carefully cultivated by Ishikibana staff with time and effort.

One of Ishikibana's unique charms is their gently shaped pots, all produced in-house.

Approximately 50 original colors are given elegant names such as "Shigure" (drizzle) and "Shinpiki" (deep green).

The "Four Seasons and Bonsai" collaboration with Ishikibana is available for a limited time each season.
