Japanese black pines with their thick, stiff needles.

Their ability to retain their green leaves even in the harsh winter cold has long been revered, symbolizing longevity and prosperity.

Japanese Black Pine (Kuromatsu), a Japanese native species symbolizing longevity and prosperity

Kuromatsu, or Japanese Black Pine, is a classic bonsai tree. Its evergreen leaves, even in winter, have long been revered as sacred and a symbol of longevity.

The vibrant leaves growing in a small pot have a charm reminiscent of a mischievous boy.

Its robust nature, with excellent heat and cold resistance, makes it easy for beginners to handle. Its vigorous budding also allows for the joy of shaping it into your preferred form.

Kuromatsu is available in two sizes

① Extra Small Size

The color of the sake-cup-like pot is "Seigin" (blue-silver), like a quiet winter sky. The saucer is paired with "Biwa," reminiscent of a sun-drenched spot.

② Small Size

Given that Kuromatsu are often planted along the coast, the pot color is "Kokkai" (black sea), like the rough ocean. A crisp "White" saucer was chosen.
