Underneath its feather-like leaves, the Ardisia japonica sways with shiny red berries.
It's considered a good-luck charm, also known as "Jūryō" (meaning "ten ryo"), often used in New Year's decorations alongside Ardisia crenata (Senryō) and Ardisia crispa (Manryō).
Ardisia japonica, whose flower language is "Happiness for Tomorrow"
Ardisia japonica is a delicate plant with straight branches, slender leaves, and cherry-like red berries. Its white to pale pink flowers that bloom modestly around summer are also captivating.
The red berries in winter have been considered auspicious since ancient times, and are still commonly displayed during New Year's as "Juuryo" (ten ryo), another name for the plant.

This time, we have prepared a medium-sized, round plant. The pot color is "White" like snow, and the "Lemon" saucer pairs beautifully with the red berries.

This species is resistant to heat and cold, and can grow easily in partial shade. Even when managed indoors, placing it in a cold room during winter will promote better budding and flowering in spring.
Occasionally exposing the plant to sunlight and wind on a balcony or similar outdoor space allows it to refresh and experience the changing seasons.

Four Seasons and Bonsai features 7 species in total

It is considered auspicious because its leaves remain green all year round and it has a long lifespan. It is also familiar today as one of the "Pine, Bamboo, and Plum" ("Saikan no San'yu" - the Three Friends of Winter) for its ability to maintain its beautiful appearance even in the cold winter.
